Glazed Walnuts |

1 Large Package Walnut Halves 1 Cup Sugar 1 Teaspoon Cinnamon 1 Teaspoon Vanilla 1/4 Teaspoon Salt 5 Tablespoons Water

1. Place walnuts on cookie tray in oven at 350F degrees for 8 minutes. 2. Meanwhile, combine sugar, cinnamon, salt and the water in a large saucepan. Boil to soft ball stage (use candy tester or drop a small amount into cold water...when you can make a soft ball out of the drop, it is done) 3. Remove nuts from oven. 4. Working QUICKLY, remove the saucepan from the heat. Add the vanilla and the walnuts. Stir to coat evenly and quickly turn out onto a sheet of tin foil. Try to separate the nuts as quickly as you can without burning yourself. 5. Keep in jar with tight fitting lid after they have cooled. |
