: My uncles friend makes this peanut butter pie that is to die for and I have never gotten the receipe. I'm counting on you Joe do you happen to have it? : Sherrie Peanut Butter Pie 1 baked pie crust 1/2 cup sugar 1/2 cup all-purpose flour or 1/4 cup cornstarch 1/4 teaspoon salt 3 cups milk 4 eggs 1/4 cup creamy peanut butter 1/4 cup coarsly chopped peanuts(Optional) Meringue 4 egg whites 1 teaspoon vanilla 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar 1/2 cup sugar For filing, in saucepan combine sugar, flour or cornstarch and salt. Gradually stir in milk. Cook and stir till thickened and bubbly. Reduce heat; cook and stir 2 minutes more. Remove saucepan from heat. Separate egg yolks from whites, set whites aside for meringue. Beat yolks slightly. Gradually stir 1 cup of the hot mixture into the yolks. Return mixture to saucepan, bring to a gentle boil. Cook and stir 2 minutes more. Remove saucepan from heat. Stir in peanut butter till smooth. Stir in peanuts, if desired. Pour hot mixture into baked pastry shell. Make Meringue for pie using the 4 reserved egg white. Spread meringue over filling, seal to edge. Bake at 350 degree oven for 12-15 minutes. Cool cover, chill to store Meringue 1-In a medium mixer bowl beat the egg whites, vanilla and cream of tartar at medium speed of electric mixer until soft peaks form. 2-3 Gradually add the sugar about 1 tablespoon at a time, beating at high speed, until mixture forms stiff, glossy peaks and sugar is dissolved. 4 Immediatly spread meringue over pie, carefully sealing edge of pastry to prevent shrinkage. ba
