This rye bread recipe always works for me:

1 cup + 2 Tbsp. warm water
1 Tbsp. margarine
2 Tbsp. molasses
1 tsp. salt
2 Tbsp. brown sugar
2 1/2 cups white flour
1 cup rye flour
1 Tbsp. cocoa
2 tsp. yeast
Do on regular or whole wheat cycle.
