I made this as an appetizer this weekend for a family gathering. It is a very simple recipe. It was a definite hit!
Brown Sugar Smokies
1 (16 ounce) package little smokie sausages 1 pound bacon 1 cup brown sugar, or to taste
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Cut bacon into thirds. Dip both sides of bacon into brown sugar then wrap around a smokie. Place on a foil-lined baking sheet. Repeat process until all smokies are wrapped in brown sugar-bacon.
Bake about 15 minutes, and then broil about 5 minutes, to make bacon crispy. Keep an eye on the sausages while on broil, as they can burn easily.
