Tina.....you might try using equal parts water & milk as your cooking liquid. Add the normal amt. of salt and some sugar & butter along with your rice. I'd try:
1 cup water 1 cup milk 3/4 cup long-grain rice 1/2 tsp. salt 3 Tbsp. sugar 3 Tbsp. butter
In medium saucepan, bring water & milk to a boil. Stir in remaing ingredients. Cover & simmer on very low heat for 20 minutes. Uncover, stir & taste. Add more sugar (to taste) if desired.
**use a nice, heavy saucepan
