Hi Lucretia :-) I found this recipe on the internet but have not tried it. I hope that this is the recipe that you are looking for.

Cherries in a Cloud

6 egg whites
3/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
3/4 cup chopped walnuts
2 cups sugar
2 cups Saltine crackers, crushed
2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Cool Whip
1 can cherry pie filling

Beat the egg whites with the cream of tartar and add in the sugar a little at a time. Beat until mixture is shiny, white, and frothy.

Then fold in the walnuts, crushed crackers and vanilla.

Put the mixture into a baking pan and bake in a 350°F oven for 25 minutes. Remove and cool.

When cool, spread Cool Whip over the meringue and then pour the cherry pie filling on top.
