JUBILEE JUMBLE COOKIES

This is my mother's recipe for Jubilee Jumbles

1/2 cup shortening
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
2 eggs
1 cup evaporated milk
1 tsp vanilla
2 3/4 cups flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
angel flake coconut to taste (I use 1 to 2 cups)
Burnt Butter Frosting (recipe follows)

Cream the shortening, brown sugar, white sugar, and eggs. Mix in the evaporated milk. Add the vanilla. Slowly blend in the flour, baking soda, and salt. Stir in the coconut. Chill for at least one hour.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Spoon dough by tablespoons onto ungreased cookie sheets.

Bake for approximately 8-10 minutes or until lightly browned.

Frost with Burnt Butter Frosting while still slightly warm.

BURNT BUTTER FROSTING
