Good Morning Nancy, Nora had a good suggestion for you. I felt like perhaps you might have already done what I suggested but, last night I was telling my husband about your message and he suggested that I post a recipe that I 'kinda changed' from a cookbook I have. He really likes these and says that 'guys' he's shared them with really like them. 5 1/4 cups flour, 1 1/2 cups sugar, 1 1/2 cups brown sugar, (firmly packed), 3 cups unsalted butter, 2 eggs, 1 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar, 1 1/2 tsp. soda, 3/4 tsp. salt, 1 cup quick cook oats, 1 cup rice krispies, 1 cup flaked coconut, 1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (I use both), 1 cup butterscotch chips, 1 cup vanilla chips, 2 tsp. vanilla extract, 1 tsp. butter flavoring, 1/2 tsp. maple flavoring. ---- Preheat oven to 350. In large mixing bowl combine all ingredients except oats, rice cereal, coconut and nuts. Beat until well mixed and creamy. By hand add rest of ingredients. ( I usually add chips, coconut, and nuts while mixing with mixer, because I have a commercial mixer) This is a stiff dough but, not difficult to handle. Drop dough by rounded Tbls. 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake for 13 - 16 min. until lightly browned. Yield apprx. 7 - 8 dozen depending on size of cookies. These are light and crispy and very rich. Sometimes I undercook as you would chocolate chip and then they are chewy. Hope you enjoy!
