Hi everyone,
I posted this to a student who wanted chocolate recipes over at the ethnic baord (you may want to post to them too, mines all so far) and thought I needed to post it here, this REALLY is good and the quote in the book is so funny, it goes on about powered pasted ect are awful but hot cocoa mix is the worst this being its counter part! It is sooooooo good! use caution it is definatly an artery clogger!
This comes from the frugal gromet(opps funny typo!) Jeff Smith, I love the quote that preceeds it maybe I'll e-mail it to you so as to not violate copy rite laws. I can give you specifics for the bib in your report.
Hot Chocolate to die for
for each cup, in a double boiler combine:
2 to 3 oz. milk chocolate
1 tea. butter
1/4 tea. vanilla
Stir togther until completely melted and smooth.
Then add: 1 cup half and half or cream
add the half and half slowly, incorperating it gradually as it heats, but do not boil. Serve over a handful of miniture marshmellows and garnish with a dash of nutmeg.
variation: sub dark (smisweet choc.) or white chocolate 9very elegant) also try adding liquers; kahlua to go with milk choc., Contreau with dark choc., epermint shnapps with white.
Add liquers only if you are of age, i can just here my teen now "but mom the recipes says ...."
We have made this minus the liquers and it is WONDERFUL!!!!
