I *Love* this fragrance in my home during the fall and holiday season! Have tried several different variations over the years but keep coming back to this one. I put it in an electric potpourri crockpot I bought a long time ago and watch the water level everyday (I unplug when I leave and overnight). It lasts a long time, just keep adding water or more spices:

Christmas Scent
Source: 1984 Southern Living Annual Recipes

3 (4-inch) sticks cinnamon
3 bay leaves
1/4 cup whole cloves
1/2 lemon, halved
1/2 orange, halved
1 quart water

Combine all in teakettle or saucepan, bring to boil; reduce heat and simmer. Check often and add more water if needed. Mixture may be stored in fridge several days and reused. Makes 4 cups

I find Tones spices in large containers very reasonable at Price Club or BJ's Wholesale Clubs.
