Aunt Laura's Crumb Topping:
Just the topping is: 2 cups flour 2 sticks margarine 4 Tsp Cinnamon 1 Tsp nutmeg 2/3 cup sugar 1 Tsp Vanilla ex. Confec. Sugar
You can use any yellow cake mix, Dunken Hines Moist Delux classic yellow is what we used.
Prepare cake to directions, bake 1/2 way until batter has risen, and is solid on top. Add crumbs, and bake for the rest of the time until you’re happy with the crumbs. (Some people like them crunchy, I personally just wait till they brown just a little. Wait till cake COMPLETLY cools, sprinkle with confectionious sugar.
You can use the crumb recipe on anything else you like, chocolate cake, muffins, breakfast breads, ect. Use your imagination!
