APPLE ENVELOPE
3 medium baking apples, tart or sweet 1/4 cup raisins 2 tablespoons honey 1 teaspoon ground allspice Ready-made pastry for single, 9-inch pie crust Milk Sugar
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Grease a large baking sheet.
Peel, core and cut apples into quarter-inch slices. In medium-sized bowl, combine apples with raisins, honey and allspice.
Roll out pastry to a circle, about 10 inches in diameter. Spoon apple mixture over half the dough, leaving a one-inch border. Fold the other half over the apples, moisten edges with milk and seal. Crimp edges with tines of a fork.
Place on baking sheet, brush with milk and sprinkle with sugar.
Bake for 45 minutes, until golden.
