Could you substitute some of the whole wheat for some rye? Maybe. say, 1?4 cup of rye to take the place of 1/4 cup of the whole wheat?
OR: Here is a recipe from my breadmaker cookbood, it's for light rye, but you could always add a couple of tablespoons of sunflower seeds at the add beep I think.
Makes 1 lb. loaf
7-1/2 oz water 1-1/4 c. white flour 3/4 c. rye flour 1 tbsp. butter 1-1/2 tbsp. sugar 1 tsp. salt 1 tbsp. caraway seeds (could sub. sunflower probably) 2 tsp. yeast Mix on whole wheat cycle
Maybe try those and see what happens. Let me know, I usually make pumpernickel but would like to try this sunflower type.
