Doughnuts
2 cups New Bisquick 2 Tablespoons Sugar 1 Teaspoon Vanilla 1 Egg 1/4 cup Milk 1/4 teaspoon Cinnamon 1/4 teaspoon Nutmeg
Sugar Coating
1/4 cup Sugar 1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon
Heat salad oil (3 to 4 inches) in heavy saucepan or deep fat fryer to 375 degrees. Mix all ingredients except Sugar Coating until smooth. Gently smooth dough into a ball on lightly floured cloth-covered board. Knead 8 to 10 times. Roll out 1/4 inch thick. Cut with floured doughnut cutter. Drop rings, 3 or 4 at a time, into hot oil. Fry about 1/2 minute on each side or until golden brown. Lift from oil with fork; drain on paper towels. While warm, shake doughnuts in Sugar Coating; (1/4 cup sugar & 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon) combined in plastic or paper bag. Makes about 1 dozen
VARIATION: Follow recipe for Doughnuts except - drop by teaspoonfuls into hot oil. Makes 4 dozen balls.
