Donna's Lemon Glazed Pound Cake
3 cups of sifted flour 2 teaspoons of baking powder 3 cups of sugar 3 sticks (1 1/2 cups) of butter (no substitutes) 6 jumbo eggs 1 cup of milk 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract 2 teaspoons of lemon extract
Sift flour an baking powder/set aside Cream butter Alternate eggs and sugar/cream well after each addition Add vanilla/alternate flour and milk Add lemon extract Pour into well greased and floured 10 inch tube cake pan Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour and 15 minutes Check cake after 1 hour/ovens may vary
Glaze 2 cups of confectioners' sugar 1/4 cup of lemon juice
mix well pour on cake upon removal from pan
