DUTCH APPLE CAKE
4 tart apples 1 1/2 cups sifted flour 1/2 tsp. salt 1 tsp. sugar 1/2 cup Mazola Corn Oil 2 tbsp. milk Streusel (recipe follows)
Peel and core apples; cut in eighths.
Sift flour, salt and sugar into an (8x8x2 inch) cake pan; set aside.
Combine oil and milk in measuring cup. Whip with fork. Pour all at once over flour mixture. Mix with fork until dampened.
Pat out to cover bottom of pan and push dough up along sides to depth of about 1 inch. Arrange apples over pastry. Sprinkle Streusel over top.
Bake in hot oven (425 degrees F) 40 to 45 minutes, or until pastry is browned.
STREUSEL
3/4 cup sugar 2 tbsp. flour 1/4 tsp. salt 2 tbsp. butter or margarine
Mix sugar, flour and salt in a bowl. Cut in butter with pastry blender or fork until crumbly.
